Some Updates

This year we will initiate more frequent Happy Hour gatherings as well as Dinner and Movie gatherings. These will both serve as a time to get to know and enjoy one another in more creative formats :-) Dates for these gatherings will be noted on the Google Calendar, here on the left side of this Blog. They are:

Happy Hours
:
January 31st - TPC Tattoo Happy Hour at the Dugout. Come share your tattoo stories...or just come!
March 7th - TPC Tournament Happy Hour at the Dugout. Come play in a Pool or Darts tournament...or just come! :)

Dinner and Movies:

February 21st - TPC meets for Dinner and Movie at 124 Hamilton St. Cambridge (not at the Dugout). Movie to be determined.
April 25th - TPC meets for Dinner and Movie at 124 Hamilton St. Cambridge (not at the Dugout). Movie to be determined.
These Dinner and Movie days are inspired by Marjorie Suchocki (a wonderful theologian) who loves to watch movies as a way to initiate discussion on current day situations and the theological challenges and significance they raise. We will watch movies that she recommends in Creative Transformation, a publication of the Process and Faith center.

Also, Andrew Trip will be facilitating our gatherings once a month; bringing new creative energies to our gatherings :) If anyone else is inspired to help lead just email Xochitl at thepubchurch(at)gmail(dot)com. Creative participation is always welcome!

As always, everyone is WELCOME, so feel free to stop in and join us at any time! Hope to see you soon...

Part of The Pub Church gathering includes a time for "creative expression" - if there is a particular creative way in which you connect with the Divine and would like to share that with the pub church, we have a space for you! Let me know if you are interested.

Summer Schedule

For the summer months of June, July and August, TPC will be meeting at the same location every week. In the fall we will continue with a monthly rotation of pubs (and hopefully a coffee shop too). The rotation will be the same every month, this way we have both some familiarity and movement and fluidity! Cool huh?

We decided to go with the Dugout because so far it has been our favorite location.

Welcome to The Pub Church's Blog!

We basically needed a way to share up-to-date info on the happenings of The Pub Church (TPC) without bombarding folks with too many emails...So here it is, a blog to serve the purpose! This will be the place you can come to and get the "latest"!

For example, here's some of the latest:

At our next gathering of TPC - Saturday, May 3rd at The DougOut - Andrew Prete will be providing the musical inspiration! All I can tell you about him is that I saw him playing in the Orange Line (if I remember correctly - it was a while back!), he was singing one of my favorite songs, The Weight , by The Band, and I immediately thought that it would be awesome if we could have him play at pub church one day - And now he is! Yay :-)

Also, last week at TPC we decided to help out a family who just recently arrived from Cuba. As with most people who leave Cuba, they arrived in this country with nothing more than what they were wearing. So people who were able shared from their resources and this week I mailed off a card to the family with our gift to them. I'll let you all know what I hear back!

Here's a picture, but of course I wrote the card in Spanish.

So, there it is, our blog with the latest! Enjoy and come often!

Update: Andrew Prete's website!
